DES3D Parameter Configuration

Tip: using an AI assistant. Not sure which parameters your model needs? An AI assistant (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) can help translate a plain-language description of your model (geometry, materials, boundary conditions) into values for the fields below, or explain what a specific parameter does. Treat its suggestions as a draft, not a final answer: check them against the description text under each field, or against DynEarthSol's --help, before generating your config — an assistant can confidently get a parameter name, default, or unit wrong, especially for less common options, since most assistants have at best shallow, unreliable knowledge of DES3D specifically from training alone. Give it the DES3D docs, the DynEarthSol repository, or its method papers (Shyu et al., 2026; Choi et al., 2013) — either paste the relevant page, or let it fetch the URL directly if it has that ability — instead of relying on what it already "knows".
